About

Throughout my life, I have performed across North Dakota with many different musical groups including my family’s polka band and the North Dakota Army National Guard band which includes many different varieties of groups. I am teaching private lessons and work as an organist at my church in Bismarck. My musical accomplishments include performing on piano, percussion, accordion, organ, trumpet, and guitar. My musical skills also include arranging and conducting for my band at church. I recently graduated from the University of Mary with a B.S. in Music with piano as my primary focus.

Biography

Katie Woodside began her musical career performing on accordion and singing with her parents and extended family across North Dakota. Through this time, she has three albums with her family, sold across North Dakota. Through the years her performances have grown to include playing piano, trumpet, and guitar, and creating arrangements for some performances.  

Katie auditioned for the North Dakota Army National Guard band in May of 2022. She passed the requirements and has been working with the North Dakota 188th Army band since July of 2023. Through this opportunity, Mrs. Woodside has performed across North Dakota as a pianist, percussionist, and trumpet player in many different ensembles including a small mixed genre band, marching band, jazz band, concert band, pep band, and a vocal duet.  

Katie has been arranging for and conducting a small band at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bismarck where she has worked for the past six years as an organist. Mrs. Woodside has also taught piano privately for the past several years and is now also teaching group instrumental lessons at Martin Luther School.  

Katie recently graduated from the University of Mary with a B.S. in Music and a primary focus in piano under the teaching of Dr. EunAe Lee.
